Banana Moon

With a thriving franchise model and waiting lists of children to onboard, Banana Moon has grown exponentially since the initial nursery location was founded in 2006 by father and son team Mike and Mark Bates. They began to franchise the business in October 2010.

 

We came on board in 2018 to help them unlock their next stage of growth – providing brand strategy, marketing, digital and event services. We remain a proud partner to this day, supporting Banana Moon as they’ve grown from 22 to over 50 nurseries across the UK.

We enhanced Banana Moon’s marketing output with a visual identity overhaul. Our Studio refined an existing logo design and developed an identity system that included a visual framework and custom illustrations. These took pride of place within the nurseries, providing inspiring images for the children as well as brand continuity across different locations.

 

Banana Moon was born after Mark Bates had tried to find a high-quality nursery that focused on both the children and parents without success. One of our first tasks was therefore to highlight the franchise’s understanding of the trust parents put in a nursery’s hands through thoughtful design and copy.

Our Digital team created an online hub for franchisees to interact on the forum, access marketing assets, shop (stationery, uniforms and marketing materials) and even design some of their own material within bespoke templates. Our Digital team also developed individual nursery websites for each location providing information, assurance and excitement among prospective parents.

 

We also created a franchise website designed to be a B2B tool to capture the interest of potential franchisees and highlight Banana Moon’s prowess in helping entrepreneurs own a profitable long-term business. We also helped provide new owners with everything needed to get off the ground as quickly and easily as possible, including marketing materials, PR and operational manuals.

We continue to provide a full marketing mix and expert support to the Banana Moon franchise via our Digital, Copy, Creative and Data teams.

 

It’s imperative that Banana Moon place their nurseries in the right geographical area. Our Data team create dashboards for all potential investors, explaining key family/parental opportunities in the area, and provide competitor analysis and summarising the location viability.

Every year, Denfield also produces and runs the annual ‘Midnight Moon Awards’ event for the Banana Moon franchise, which celebrates the hard work and accomplishments of the nurseries throughout the year. These events are fully bespoke and are created and supported by our in-house events team – from initial idea creation through to AV, entertainment and venue.
